Community development can differ from person to person, but when it comes to any particular, meanwhile a perfect definition, the one who can define it at its best, is you. As I stated earlier it differs person to person it needs to be more specific where do you live, how your community peoples behave, their lifestyle, their fundamentals as well as basic positions and situations, their willingness and their goals, their ideas and most importantly the culture stored in a particular community.

No matter how long we pursuit the development with burning desire to achieve the advancement of communal thrive of peoples but its also decided by some important characteristics of a leader who leads the community.

Definition of community development: - Community development is a wide and important subject. It can be defined as a continuous process through which community members come together to take collective action and generate solutions to their common problems. Community development ranges from small initiatives within a small group to large initiatives that involve the broader community. Community development produces self-reliant and self –sustain communities that mobilize resources for the benefit of their members.

The local government plays a major role in community development. Their role is to build and maintain networks of relationships among people in a community so that they can achieve economic and social progress.

As community development worker you also play an important role as an activist for development to be effective in your work, you need to understand the major challenges and opportunity  of the community, where you work this, is important for strategic planning and implementation of community development.

Community  development has the following elements:

• Active participation against unhealthy social taboos and social isolations

• Development of self-esteem, sympathy, empathy and confidence building

• Creative thinking and practical action

• Social adjustment and mutual support

• Involvement in the theory and practice of community development

• Mobilizing funds to meet emerging needs

• Identification of priority areas by the community.
